The cough syrup recall was put in place due to dosage cups included with the medicine not labeling doses correctly. This could result in an overdose of the medicine in children. However, no negative effects have been reported yet.

The affected products that are part of the cough syrup recall include grape and cherry flavors of cough syrup. These syrups are sold at multiple different stores as part of their store brand products. The cherry flavor has an expiration date of March 2017 and the grape flavor has an expiration date of August 2017.
