Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is planning to hire 2,000 employees in NYC by 2020.

The employees that Amazon is looking to hire will work at a new office that it is setting up in NYC. The new office will be located at 5 Manhattan West and will be 359,000 square feet. The office will offer jobs in finance, information technology, marketing and sales.

The positions that Amazon is seeking to fill at its new office in NYC will offer an average yearly salary of $100,000. The online retailer is also planning to spend $55 million on the office space to get it ready for employees.

Amazon says that the reason it is opening its new office space in NYC has to do with the “great talent” that it has previously found in the area. However, it also got a deal for $20 million in tax credits based on its performance for opening the facility in the city, reports New York Daily News.

“Amazon’s further expansion in New York is proof positive that our strong economic climate, diverse workforce and talent, are helping to attract top-notch companies from around the world,” N.Y. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement obtained by the publication.

Amazon is also currently looking for a location to set up its second North American headquarters. The company has yet to say where this second quarters will be built, but there is already a likely list of candidates for the new location. AMZN says this new location will match its main headquarters in Seattle, Wash.

As of this writing, William White did not hold a position in any of the aforementioned securities.
