Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has agreed to a new deal that will have it paying its shuttle bus drivers higher wages.

The over 150 shuttle bus drivers that transport 5,000 of the tech company’s employees every day are hired through contractors. However, Apple has agreed to fund a 25% increase in their wages. The employees are paid hourly and those that work split shifts will receive higher pay, reports San Jose Mercury News.

Contractors for Apple shuttle bus drivers said that the wage increases will help them pull in better employees. Some of the drivers will have to wait until the Teamsters union agrees to the pay increase before they see it in their checks, San Jose Mercury News notes.

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) shuttle bus drivers were granted a pay increase last month that is similar to the one announced by Apple. Many of these employees will see their wages increase by roughly $5 an hour and are also getting better benefits.

Walmart (NYSE:WMT) has also announced plans for a wage increase. The retailer said that it will bump the minimum wage for all of its U.S. workers up to $9 an hour. The increased pay is planned to go into effect in April.

AAPL shares were up slightly as of Noon Monday.
