Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) trade-in program has been expanded to include devices from other manufacturers.

apple-trade-in-program-aaplThe expansion of the Apple trade-in program means that Google (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) Android and BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) owners can now trade in their devices for credit towards products from the company. If a device is too old to be considered for trade, the company will still allow customers to recycle it with them, reports TechCrunch.

The Apple trade-in program extends to more than just smartphones. The program now allows customers to trade in old computers, such as those running Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows, for credit toward a new iPhone or Mac. The updated program is in place at Apple Stores in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy, TechCrunch notes.

The new Apple trade-in program offers also extend to its online store, but only in certain areas. At the moment, the tech company currently only allows those living in the UK to trade in their non-Apple devices for credit online, reports Cnet.
