Twitch Data Breach: Amazon Alerts Gaming Site Users of Hack Attack

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), announced on Monday, that video game streaming service Twitch has been hacked.

The Twitch data breach has resulted in some users’ account information being compromised. To help lessen the damage, the service has disabled users’ passwords. Users will be prompted to create a new password the next time they sign into the service, reports CNBC.

Twitch also disconnected users’ accounts from Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) YouTube and Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) to keep the breach from spreading.The video streaming service also advises users to change their passwords on websites that they use a similar password on, CNBC notes.

Information that may have been stolen during the Twitch data breach includes credit card numbers, the type of card it is and its expiration date. Hackers may have also obtained users’ addresses, date of births and IP addresses, reports Forbes.

AMZN shares were down slightly as of Tuesday afternoon.
