Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) has introduced a new video app called “Riff”.

Riff allows Facebook users to come together to create videos. It starts with one person making a video clip and others being allowed to add to that clip. Videos are labelled with hashtags and can grow beyond a single person’s Friends list.

Facebook is hoping that users will enjoy the idea of creating videos with others and that it will fuel its usage. The Riff app was a side project that several developers at the company stayed after hours to work on.

Facebook users that are interested in using Riff to create videos with their friends can download the app from the Google (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) Play Store or from Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) App Store.
