Here are your Apple Rumors for today:
Beta: Apple (AAPL) has released the second beta of tvOS 9.1 to developers, reports MacRumors. The new beta can be downloaded via an over-the-air update for those that already have the first beta, which was released last week, installed. The new beta doesn’t seem to offer anything in the way of outward changes for the set-top box’s operating system. It’s likely that the tech company will use tvOS 9.1 to fix bugs and improve performance on the fourth generation of its TV.
Music: A beta version of Apple Music is now available for Android devices, AppleInsider notes. The new beta of the music streaming service can be downloaded from Alphabet’s
(GOOG,GOOGL) Google Play Store. The new beta still includes the free three-month trial for the service, but the company notes that not all features are currently up and running. Music videos can’t be watched through the app and the sign-in process isn’t optimized for Android devices. Also, users looking to upgrade to a paid account will need access to an iOS device or a Mac. However, all other features of the app are available to Android users.
Test: Apple employees are currently testing the next versions of iOS and OS X, reports 9to5Mac. Looking over data for current version of iOS and OS X in use has shown that some people are running iOS 10 and OS X 10.12. Activity connected to these two operating systems actually started in September. However, there has been an increase in activity on iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 in recent weeks. The new Mac OS is currently being referred to as “Fuji” internally.
