A new Snapchat update released over the weekend brings new “Friend Emojis” to the app.
The new Friend Emojis are designed to alert users of who they have the best relationships with. The emoji can be seen by going to the “My Friends” option in the app. There are several different emoji that have different purposes for labeling friends, reports International Business Times.
“Starting today, a bunch of emojis will be popping up in your Snapchat friends list,” Snapchat told Business Insider. “No, they weren’t just our favorite ones (shout out to the poop emoji), they actually mean something super-important — they break down your whole squad.”
Here are the six different Friend Emoji added in the new Snapcaht update and what they stand for, as collected from International Business Times.
- Heart — The person you snap with the most.
- Sunglasses — You and this person snap with a lot of similar people.
- Grimace — You and this friend snap the same person the most.
- Smirk — This person snaps with you a good bit, but aren’t as high on your list.
- Smile — This represents a person that you snap with a lot.
- Fire & Number — Represents how much you and a person snap back and forth together.
