Time to ditch that Tag Heuer or Rolex for an Apple (AAPL) Watch.

You won’t be the only one…

Apple’s new Apple Watch is quickly becoming the new must-have accessory.

Don’t believe us? Ask an Apple Watch owner. That’s what 451 Research did, and found that people love Apple’s new do-it-all watch.

“Our latest survey shows the Apple Watch is off to a great start, with high marks in satisfaction and a strong likelihood of recommending it to others,” said Andy Golub, Survey Research Director for 451 Research. “The wide range of features on the device and its frequent usage among owners pose a clear threat to health and fitness monitors and traditional watches.”

Overall, 87 percent of the users had a “very positive” opinion of the watch, and more than half said they’re “very satisfied” with the watch.

Nearly a third, or 8 percent, of owners said the watch exceeded their expectations while more than half said it met their expectations.

There’s more…

Toy, or Latest Must-have Gadget?

Users told 451 Research that they love the Apple Watch notification features and its new abilities to monitor your fitness.

This is clearly more than a toy… and Fitbit (FIT) should be worried.

Nearly half of all Apple Watch owners told 451 Research that they’re delaying the purchase of a fitness monitor because their Apple Watch does it all.

Other key findings from the 451 survey include:

  • Four-in-five (79 percent) say they use their Apple Watch for Health and Fitness Monitoring on a daily basis.
  • Another 63 percent say they send and receive text messages.
  • Fifty-two percent check the weather daily.

There are, however, some downsides…

Downsides

In some ways, those old-tech Seikos and Corums have the Apple Watch beat.

The top problem (29 percent) experienced by owners is lag time when scrolling or refreshing.

Sensor issues—the focus of several media reports in the aftermath of the Apple Watch release—rank second at 19 percent.

But when 451 Research asked Apple Watch owners about the extent of the sensor problem, just 4 percent characterize it as a “very big problem,” while 8 percent say it’s “somewhat of a problem.”

Of course, Apple recently announced that due to a bug, it’s delaying the release of Watch OS 2, its new operating system.

Users’ gripes also involve battery life and that it needs to be tied to an iPhone.

Wait. Don’t skip this watch just yet…

Fashion or Tech?

A total of 61 percent consider their Apple Watch to be a technology device, but just 1 percent think it’s a fashion accessory.

At the same time, better than a third (36 percent) consider their Apple Watches equally tech-friendly and fashion-forward.

Bottom line: Apple does it again.

Investors, take note.

Is anyone shocked that the Apple Watch is already widely considered the best smartwatch yet?

Yeah, we aren’t, either.
