It’s Wall Street’s favorite time of year: Earnings season. (OK, bonus season might be Wall Street’s favorite time of year, but let’s not split hairs.)

top earningsHere’s a brief list of some of the top stocks reporting today, and what the consensus expectations are for each one.

P.M. Earnings Releases: Wednesday, July 29

Facebook Inc (FB): The social media giant reports second-quarter earnings today after the bell, and expectations are riding high. Analysts are looking for earnings of 47 cents per share from FB, a 12% increase from the same quarter last year. Revenue is actually where Wall Street wants to see the real growth, with consensus estimates clocking in at $3.99 billion, a 37% year-over-year jump.

FB stock has enjoyed a remarkable 2015 thus far, and through Tuesday’s close, shares were up 22% as a variety of exciting catalysts like its virtual reality division Oculus, an escalating video war with Google Inc’s (GOOG, GOOGL) YouTube and the monetization of Instagram all show promise.

IXYS Corporation (IXYS): This Milpitas, California-based semiconductor company with a market capitalization around $430 million is certainly no Facebook, but then again, Facebook isn’t exactly a dime a dozen. IXYS develops and manufactures various types of integrated circuits, as well as a host of other technology parts like microcontrollers and radio frequency power semiconductors.

Up 7.6% at the ring of the closing bell yesterday, analysts are looking for EPS of 21 cents in the June quarter on revenue of $83.11 million — a 5.6% year-over-year decrease.

Key Energy Services, Inc. (KEG): KEG investors know how to celebrate — or at least they did after first-quarter results earlier this year, when the stock posted a loss of 18 cents per share, a full penny better than consensus estimates.

We’ll have to keep the keg on ice until later today — we don’t want to celebrate too early — because earnings season can be a blessing or a curse. Wall Street expects this onshore oil rig servicing contractor to lose 23 cents per share in the June quarter, more than double its 11-cent loss in Q2 of 2014; revenue is also expected to slide, with calls for revenue of $233.5 million, a 33% slump.

NXP Semiconductors NV (NXPI): Analysts are looking for this Dutch chipmaker — best known as an Apple (AAPL) supplier whose RFID chips help make Apple Pay possible — is expected to post EPS of $1.37 in the quarter, up from $1.09 a year ago.

Wall Street will be looking for revenue to clock in at $1.51 billion in the quarter. Investors will also be listening closely to guidance, as NXPI is a major player in the chip-and-pin card security movement and shareholders will want to know how things have been developing on that front.

SolarCity Corp (SCTY): This solar panel installer has had its fair share of ups and downs, so it won’t be a shock if SCTY goes parabolic one way or the other this afternoon. Shares closed yesterday at $56.03, a year-to-date gain of 5%, but the stock has been as high as $79.40 in the last year.

While revenues are growing like imaginary beanstalks, unfortunately the company still isn’t profitable. Analysts expect SolarCity to post per-share losses of $1.57 for the quarter, but for revenue to jump 47% year-over-year to break the $90 million mark. With Tesla Motors (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk on the board of directors, shareholders can only hope some of his mojo comes through for SCTY on Wednesday.

Suncor Energy Inc. (USA) (SU): You’re probably aware that it’s been a rough year for oil prices, and that in turn, oil stocks haven’t exactly been Wall Street All-Stars either. Well, Suncor is no exception, and analysts are pretty confident the $36 billion integrated Canadian oil company won’t be increasing its revenue in the three months ended June 30.

In fact, Wall Street expects revenue to fall by roughly 25% to $8.04 billion, and for Suncor EPS to take more than a 60% haircut, clocking in at 30 cents per share vs. the year-ago Q2 EPS of 77 cents.
